    Overview:
         > Hmm...  If there ever was a sucker for old-school, it would be me.  I can remember watching "Battle of the Planets" and "G-Force" as a kid (in the 70's).  Well, my fellow old-school fans, Gatchaman is apparently the Japanese name for the same series, which has been revived, updated, and released on DVD in America!!!

         > Right off the bat, the modernized look of this movie is apparent and appreciated.  The human race is in a power struggle against the alien "Galactors", who have been on Earth for eons (as the story goes).  Naturally, the Galactors are a highly advanced society with unmatched weapons of mass destruction.  Earth's only hope of salvation is an elite team of warriors, known as the "Science Ninja Team".  Together with their advanced weapons, including the awesome Phoenix mothership, they hope to defeat Solaris (the alien leader) and send his troops into oblivion.  But will the Science Ninja Team (alone) be enough?  Watch and find out!

         > Gatchaman features the classic Japanese anime style we've come to know and love.  Billowing explosions, transforming vehicles, and cool looking characters.  Throw in great sound effects to match the on-screen mayhem.  As for the music, the main theme is quite catchy, and is heard throughout the movie.  To be honest, I can't think of anything I didn't like about this anime...  I'm hungry for more!

    Bottom Line:
         > If you're a "G-Force" or Sci-Fi fan, then Gatchaman (OVA) is your ticket.  The 3 part movie maintains continuity with the original series while updating the look and style.  Don't miss out on the Science Ninja Team's battle for the planets!
