> The life and times of Golden Boy, Kintaro Oe, continues
in volume 2: Bound for Glory. Kintaro's motto is "study,
study, study", which is what he excels in doing to the opposite sex.
It's truly unfortunate that this series only lasted for 6 episodes without
any sort of sequel.
> In episode 4. "Swimming in the Sea of Love", Kintaro sees
a hot babe, Ayuko, heading into an indoor swimming center. Kintaro
follows her and is given a job teaching swimming lessons. Naturally,
things don't work out as Kintaro swims like a fish without fins.
In order to keep his job, he challenges Ayuko to a swimming race in one
month. He may not win the race, but he certainly gets a great consolation...
> The fifth episode, "BA!!$ to the Wall", has Kintaro
working for a well to do family as a servant. He immediately falls
in love with the resident daughter, Reiko Terayama. After displaying
his fetish and total lack of coordination, Kintaro gets thrown out the
front gate. He decides to wait in the woods for something to happen,
and it does. He discovers that Reiko really loves to "ride bikes",
and he challenges her to a race in order to take the place of her bike...
> The final episode of volume 2, "Animation is Fun", begins
as Kintaro gets a job at an animation studio as an errand boy. They're
working on a new production and time is short. Kintaro befriends
a beautiful animator, Chie, but of course that's not good enough to get
him through this job. In the end, Kintaro must call upon all he has
learned in order to save the day. |
