> Earthshaker's third (and quite impressive) album is titled "Midnight
Flight". In sports they say you're "on fire" when you score repeatedly.
Considering the quality of this release, I'd say Earthshaker was "on a
roll" in the mid 80s. It's just too bad they never made an impact
in America.
> EARTHSHAKER/Midnight Flight is yet another example of an album which
can be enjoyed from start to finish. Although the lyrics are mainly
Japanese, there's an occasional verse of English. "Marcy" has an
awesome voice which blends well with Earthshaker's melodic metal.
Once more, Shinichiro's guitar play is sweet as honey. His talent
is obvious and technically fabulous! These guys must have been full
of ideas and very popular (at least in Japan), because this was their third
album in just over one year!
> Midnight Flight is similar to the first two albums, but takes a slightly
more popular tangent. It's amazing how Earthshaker produced three
albums so quickly, which could have all been on one release, yet still
maintained a great set of songs for each album. The title track,
"Midnight Flight", is an awesome mix of voice, percussion, guitar, and
varied tempo. I love albums where picking a favorite song is difficult
-- therefore, I won't even attempt it on this CD. Midnight Flight
has something for everyone; popular themes, ballads, and smooth rockin'
jams! The last song, "Tada Kanashiku" is so sweet an acoustic ballad
that I could not possibly do it justice with mere words. After a
night out, in my younger days, I would always listen to this album to wind
down... |
> Melodic, technically impressive metal jams are the main attraction here,
especially if you can't understand the Japanese lyrics. Earthshaker
goes on a roll with the release of their third album, Midnight Flight!
This could easily be anyone's favorite Earthshaker album!! If you're
lucky enough to encounter this CD for sale, then buy it immediately!
Good luck.
