     > I am a big fan of the original 'Gatchaman' TV series, better known as 'Battle of the Planets' or 'G-Force' here in the states.  This ost is direct from the updated anime feature titled (what else), Gatchaman.  I really liked the music while watching the anime, so I was ecstatic when I came upon this disc.

     > This anime soundtrack is produced by Maurice White and Bill Meyers.  I don't know if those names mean anything to you (they don't to me), but I'm sure they're known in the jazz community.  The anime creators picked the right group of musicians to update the series for this flick though, as their sound flows right into the "new action" and ties into the original series nicely.

     > Most of the songs have a steady tempo with a distinctive jazzy sound.  There's a few situational themes, but those are attractive as well.  My favorite song would surely be the one called 'End Title / Let's Fly'.  It's an uplifting, smooth flowing vocal song that I can get into at any time.  And yes, it's in English (just in case you were wondering).  If you like jazz or enjoyed the anime, then I'm sure this ost will suit you well.

BOTTOM LINE:
     > I can get into most types of music and the Gatchaman ost has a smooth jazz sound that will delight most people.  It maintains a thread with the original 70's series, while having an updated sound.
