> Many of you know that I'm not the biggest fan of the Resident Evil series. However, I'm still able to appreciate excellence and the collective excitement of other gamers' in anticipation of this mega-game. For those of you that don't know, Sega is working in conjunction with Capcom on Resident Evil Code Veronica (RECV). I believe this will ensure that it's a polished game... Anyway, RECV picks up where RE2 left off, which makes it more of a sequel than RE3. > RECV's graphics are high resolution, complete with 3D environments and complex in-game models. Real-time cinemas help to tell the story and complete the experience. You control Chris or Claire in an effort to solve puzzles, kill bizarre creatures, and find an escape route on this death island. > RECV introduces what Capcom calls the "Real World System". That means if you leave ammo or an item somewhere, it'll still be there when you return. Other than that, the control scheme is classic Resident Evil. The music and effects for RECV are said to be second to none. Think atmospheric, scary, and mood-setting -- all thanks to Dreamcast's great sound system. One other feature to note is that the scenes are no longer pre-rendered, which allows for more variety in camera angles and movement (like Blue Stinger). > RECV (Biohazard) is already out in Japan and the US version is scheduled for late March. I don't consider this a very good game for importing, but I'm sure some of you won't have a problem playing it... Fans of this genre may want to take a look at Jaleco's upcoming game called Carrier. |
