     > Even though I thought Steep Slope Sliders (Saturn) and Winter Heat (Saturn) were very good, I haven't been the biggest fan of snowboarding games in general.  Many of the other snowboarding games I've played were either generic or hard to control.  Well, UEP Systems is continuing their snowboarding series on the Uberconsole with Cool Boarders Burrrn (CBB).
     > The basic idea is the same -- race down the mountain in the allotted time while performing as many tricks as possible, which rewards you with additional time.  Naturally, there are all kinds of obstacles to avoid and curves to negotiate.  There will at least be a Super Pipe, Versus and Free Ride modes to choose from.  Various characters, costumes, snowboards and styles are available too.  Each character is rated on jump, technique, power, balance, quickness and max speed.  Also, a replay camera will showcase your run with multiple third person views.
     > I have the demo of this game and I can say with the exception of awesome graphics, CBB doesn't have much new to offer.  This can be good news or bad news depending on what your expectations are.  Everything moves really smooth and is highly detailed -- just what you'd expect from a next generation console.  The music is sort of punk-rock-grunge -- all nicely mixed.  At least in the demo, the voice commentator only had one annoying thing to say over and over.  Finally, there will be at least five different tracks to board on with varying times of day represented.
     > If you're importing this game I'm sure you'll have no problem playing it.  The part part that will get tricky is the methods needed to perform moves in order to score points.  Either way, this game is due out this month in Japan and shortly thereafter in America.

FIRST IMPRESSION:
     > Hey, it's nothing new but it looks great and controls good.  If you're into snowboarding, then Cool Boarders should do fine.  Eventually, someone is going to come up with a breakthrough in this genre though...
