> RPG fans rejoice...
The first Evolution isn't even out in America yet and the sequel has already
been announced! Well, the first Evolution was received well earlier
this year in Japan and it's headed to an Uberconsole near you. Sting
has worked hard to bring you a great looking traditional dungeon RPG complete
with cartoony characters. It's touted as a 20-25 hour RPG, which
is a good length in my opinion.
> No two games
are ever the same in Evolution since the dungeons are randomly generated.
There are six "main levels" , a "main town" and a few other areas to explore.
The main town is where you'll do most of your shopping and upgrading plus
receive various missions. In the dungeons, you have an auto-map and
convenient battle menus to make life a little easier. During battles,
you can engage the enemy from different angles in order to gain an advantage.
Each dungeon will have a boss to defeat before it can be cleared.
Lastly, you can earn special attacks by raising your characters' levels
(cool).
> Hats off to
Ubi Soft for picking up the American rights to Sting's RPG. Ubi Soft
also plans to add VGA Box compatibility to Evolution, which is not part
of the Japanese version. With games like Espion-age-nts and Seventh
Cross also crossing the Pacific, it looks like the American Dreamcast will
see just about every worthy Japanese title. |
