> The original
Legacy of Kain was supposed to be a Saturn exclusive, but that never materialized.
The sequel, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (LOKSR) will be converted to Dreamcast
from the PC version. In its short existence, LOKSR has become very
popular around the world. As Raziel, you stalk Nosgoth feeding upon
the souls of your enemies as you seek to destroy your creator (Kain).
Battle 5 different vampire clans as you explore a vast 3D world tainted
by a vampire dynasty's rule.
> The story line
of LOKSR will remain the same as the PC version. However, Crystal
Dynamics promises incredibly fluid graphics and realistic environments
which will be enhanced for the Dreamcast. They boast the game runs
at 60 fps (95% of the time). Also, the depth of field will be broadened,
which means you'll see more of your environment. Even the intro movie
is improved! To top it off, resolution, textures, character animation,
and environmental shading will all be enhanced to take advantage of the
Uberconsole's power.
> Now, the things
that will not change... An interesting feature of LOKSR is that characters
remember your actions and treat you accordingly. Naturally, complex
puzzles will need to be solved in order to advance. To help, interaction
with objects is supposed to be extensive. Your enemies must be engaged
in deadly hand-to-hand combat as you make full use of weapons, acquired
spells and the surrounding environment.
> A new Dracula
like game sounds good to me. Eidos just announced it will be here
before the end of January too (in America)! A Japanese port is likely,
but details are unknown at this time. |
