> CRI, the developer of the Elite Series Aero Dancing, is set to release the first jet ski racer for the Uberconsole. Right now, the US version (Surf Rocket Racers) is expected in December, while the Japanese version (Power Jet Racing 2001) is slated for January 2001. I have a feeling the US debut will eventually fall in line with the Japanese one. We'll see... > This game takes place in New York and other fictional seaside locales. Thanks to the recently released Aero Dancing FSD, I've seen movies of Power Jet Racing 2001 in motion. Based on that, I'd say this game is shaping up nicely. The speed is good, background detail is enormous, and the wave action is realistic. The music and gameplay are the wildcards here. Judging by CRI's previous efforts, I'm pretty sure they can come through on those departments. > CRI says the game will feature 1-4 player modes, 15 jump-laden courses, and Tony Hawk-like tricks. I suspect the control will be a nice mixture of arcade and simulation. As you can see below, the graphics are in the bag... > Obviously, if this game is released in America first, then importing won't be necessary. If you prefer Japanese games, then importing should be a snap. Either way, this one looks hot! |
