> I had high hopes for this CD since I really loved the 
Symphonic Suite Version of Shining Force CD. I have not been disappointed! Shenmue Orchestra Version (Shenmue OV) delivers the goods with soothing, classical tunes. Much like Shining Force Symphonic Suite, Shenmue OV is on the repetitive side. However, this is actually not a bother because the various songs may have a single theme, but it's mixed with unique instruments, occasional Japanese vocals, and variations in tempo. Add in the decidedly Oriental flavor and emotional strings to produce pure enjoyment for your ears. In all, you get 14 tracks which total about 60 minutes of music for around $15. Bottom Line: > If you like Shining Force Symphonic Suite or orchestra music, and don't mind a little oriental influence, then Shenmue OV should work for you. I listened to it a full three times over the first time I popped it in the CD player. It will definitely impress the Shenmue theme into your brain... Overall: 9.0 |
