Pre-order Numbers | DREAMCAST
> Sega has officially pre-sold over 200,000 Dreamcast consoles with six
weeks to go until the uber-launch. Bernie Stolar has said recently
that at least 15 games will be available on launch day. These two
factors combine to crush any previous launch in any region of the world.
Retailers taking pre-orders for the Uberconsole include Ames, Babbages,
Best Buy, CompUSA, EB, eToys, FuncoLand, KB Toys and Toys’R’Us. These
stores are taking an average of 14,000 pre-orders a week!
> "We couldn't be happier with our pre-sell campaign for Sega Dreamcast,"
said Peter Roithmayr, vice president, Electronics Boutique. "From the consumer
response we have seen at our more than 500 stores across North America,
it is clear this will be the ‘must-have’ product this Fall."
