Modem-less Dreamcast | DREAMCAST
     > For those of you worried that you may not be able to get a Dreamcast because of shortages, here is some interesting news.  It seems as though some retailers will be getting shipments of American Dreamcast consoles which do not have a modem.  These are essentially the "rental model" as those versions are modem-less.  According to sources, these modem-less consoles will still retail for $199.99.  The reason for this, as far as speculation goes, is that AT&T is providing Sega with complementary modems in exchange for making them the preferred ISP for Dreamcast owners.  Therefore, all Dreamcast units theoretically cost Sega the same amount of money.
