Namco's
Naomi Cabinet | ARCADE
> Namco has released some official details on their forthcoming Naomi and
System 11 compatible arcade board called Cyber Lead II. Namco of
Japan confirmed plans to release the Cyber Lead II to the Japanese market
in
March at a yet undecided
price. This new cabinet features internal slots for both System 11 and
Naomi arcade boards and external slots for the Dreamcast VMS/VMU and the
Playstation Memory Card. In addition, Namco says the board includes
a high resolution monitor.
> The first two games scheduled for the cabinet are Super World Stadium
2000 and All Japan Pro Wrestling: Toukon Retsuden 4 Arcade Edition. Super
World Stadium 2000 is an arcade version of a Namco baseball game set for
Playstation release on March 23. All Japan Pro Wrestling: Toukon
Retsuden 4 Arcade Edition is an arcade version of Tomy's 1999 Dreamcast
wrestler, All Japan Pro Wrestling: Toukon Retsuden 4. It features
the ability to use wrestlers created in the home game when playing through
the arcade version.
> Both games are due in March from Namco. What else does Namco have
in store for arcade fans? If you believe Japanese arcade site Amusement
Graffiti, which has just been proven correct regarding Namco's plans to
release Toukon Retsuden 4 to the arcades, then Soul Calibur 2 is due for
a summer Naomi release by Namco. No official word from Namco yet,
bet we'll keep our eyes open.
