AIM
on DC! (Aol Instant Messenger) | DREAMCAST
> Interesting news in the DC community. It seems a talented reporter (and
site manager) has found a nifty way for DC owners to chat with their AIM
buddies, without turning on their PCs. The process requires that you have
an AIM account (you don't have to have an AOL account, though,). The whole
process requires you to enter IRC, but is not difficult to follow. The
only thing to be aware about is occasionally the IRC server needs to "clean
house" and service would be unavailable for a day (common issue on the
net, "house cleaning,"). Also the browser uses the whole window for IRC.
So basically to check if your friends are available requires you view nothing
else... hey it's a start. If there were multiple windows in the next browser,
though...

The whole process is explained easily (the bold words stand for the variable,
for those who don't know,). They recently have updated the story because
of its newsworthy value, but just in case the dates are June 1st and June
23 when the news was posted. Now go tell a friend!
