> Nintendo announced that its new Wii (pronounced
"we") home system will sell for $250 (half the price of Sony's
cheapest Playstation 3) and launch November 19, which is
just two days after the PS3. These two new consoles
will face off against Microsoft's
Xbox 360 (with a one year head start by then).

> The highly anticipated Gears
of War will release on November 7, which should provide an
extra boost to Microsoft's current advantage. However,
Wii features a unique wireless motion-sensitive controller
that is sure to be copied. While Sony expects to have
2 million systems by year's end, Nintendo promises to ship
4 million.
> The Wii Sports game (with tennis, golf, basketball and
bowling) will be packed with the console. Another excellent selling
point is the ability to download (and play) NES, Super
NES, N64 and TurboGrafx games (usually
$5-10) on Wii -- yeah! Don't forget backward compatibility
with GameCube!! Top that off with built-in high speed
internet connectivity, and you have one attractive package.
