> Kunoichi / Nightshade is Sega Wow's (formerly
Overworks)
second attempt at bringing back the old-school magic of the Shinobi
series. Nightshade supposedly keeps the good parts
of Shinobi, while jettisoning the
bad ones. The most obvious difference is that your character is now
a ninja heroin, named Hibana.
> Although Nightshade doesn't seem to have a graphic upgrade
(over Shinobi), the gameplay is said to be quicker, tighter
and more rewarding. Your foes are said to be more interesting, and
the bosses even bigger. The music is also supposed to draw heavily
from Genesis efforts by Yuzo Koshiro (Techno
beat). Expect to encounter 13 stages in Story Mode, 24 stages in
Mission Mode, and an additional 8 stages in both Time Attack and Survival
Mode. I'd like to see Hibana spark enough (deserved) interest to
begin a whole new series of ninja action games by Sega. |

> Having a hot female ninja is an easy way to garner new fans for Nightshade.
The best thing Sega could do is make it multi-platform.
At any rate, I'll make an update once I can get my hands on this exciting
new ninja adventure. |
