Intro |
> What would the world's most popular system be without a Dead or Alive
game? No worries. Team NINJA provides PSX2 gamers
with a somewhat improved version of the highly acclaimed Dreamcast game,
Dead or Alive 2 (DOA2).
. |
Graphics |
> Although this game is DVD formatted this is little improvement in character
graphics from the Dreamcast version but the way the costumes flap and sway
in the wind a great. The environments are fully interactive and each level
is multileveled so you can throw your opponent off a building or through
a glass window . The DVD real time cut scenes are some of the best i' ve
seen on any PS2 game to date. The backgrounds on the PS2 version has some
improvement from the Dreamcast version like the way water splashes when
you land in it and how it ripples when you move through it and the way
the wind moves and makes the flags move and in the battle arena when someone
smashes into the wall it explodes sending your opponent flying in the air. |
Control |
> The DOA2:Hardcore's control is easy to master with the PS2's controller
layout. The button layout is as follows triangle=punch, square=free, circle=kick,
and x=throw. You move with the main D-pad. Combos are also easy to master.
The R and L triggers are form camera and position movement. The PS2's controller
is defiantly the most comfortable controller I've ever played with next
to the Dreamcast. |
Sound |
> DOA2:Hardcore makes good use of it DVD rom format with superb sound like
the impact of a hit or when you fall in the water you hear it splash and
when you fall in the snow it actually sounds like your there. The soundtrack
for it is great the music really gets you in the mood to kick some butt! |
Fun |
> This game presents plenty of modes for you to get involved in like Story
Mode, Time Attack Mode, Versus Mode, Tag Battle Mode, Survival Mode, Team
Battle Mode, Sparring Mode, and Watch Mode. The Survival Mode and Watch
Mode are new from the original Dreamcast. There is also a collection mode
and where you can see the different things you have collected in Survival
Mode, and the CG gallery where you can see a collection of Pictures of
all your favorite fighters. You can also earn different costumes by beating
certain levels and modes in the game. This was my first game for the PS2
and the finest and most fun of all the original PS2 games. |
Bottom
Line |
> No matter which system you get DOA2 for, it'll be well worth the price. |
