> Sunsoft isn't exactly known for churning out sweet fighters
(remember "Galaxy Fight" for Saturn in 1996?),
but their last effort ("Waku Waku 7" for Saturn)
was pretty good. Starting out as an STV arcade game,
Astra Superstars is the 4MB RAM pseudo-sequel
to the 1MB RAM Waku Waku 7. Hopefully,
Sunsoft/Santaclaus can translate the extra 3MBs of RAM into
better animation, graphics and load times (much like Capcom
has achieved). Since it's a fighter, you can expect a highly importable
game.
> The graphics look great with characters that are at least half the size
of the screen. I've seen a few of the backgrounds and they look decent
enough with a sometimes digitized look. Naturally, special moves
and combos will be present for you to master for each character.
Finally, you can expect dazzling graphical effects during the special moves.
> By the time this game hits the import scene, it will be the fourth 4MB
RAM cartridge compatible title available for the Saturn.
The other three are from Capcom, of course (X-Men Vs.
SF, Vampire Savior & Pocket Fighter). Now, I just wish
more companies would support this cart. |
