01/27/97 | 1997 Previews | SATURN
> There's lots of reasons to rejoice for Saturn fans
in 1997. First, last year was a great year for hardware sales
and quality titles. As programmers get used to parallel
assembly programming, Saturn games continue to reach
new heights. Looking at what this year has in store
for us, we notice no shortage of excellent games on the horizon.
> Here's a partial list of the best games coming
out this year for Saturn fans.
-
DIE HARD ARCADE: last years action/fighter
arcade sleeper comes exact.
-
ENEMY ZERO: the quasi sequel to last year's
"D".
-
FIGHTERS MEGAMIX: better believe it's going
to be the best fighter until Virtua Fighter 3 arrives.
-
GUNBLADE NY: sort of a sequel to Virtua Cop
2 but, you're in a helicopter.
-
LAST BRONX: another sweet AM2 arcade fighter.
-
LUNAR SILVER STAR: sequel/remake of the Sega
CD hit.
-
MANXX TT: awesome arcade motorcycle racing
is coming Saturn's way.
-
SCORCHER: Scavenger have a racing title in
the works as well.
-
SCUD: choose your method of control, pad,
gun, or both in this hot action title.
-
SCUD RACER: the greatest arcade racer yet,
and it's rumored to be in development.
-
SEGA TOURING CAR: an arcade port which is
a cross between Daytona USA and Sega Rally.
-
SHINING the HOLY ARK: the long awaited sequel
to Shining in the Darkness on Genesis.
-
SKY TARGET: Another sweet arcade After Burner
type game.
-
SONIC the FIGHTERS: mix Sonic and Virtua Fighter,
and you get another perfect arcade port.
-
SONIC X-TREME: the long awaited, much delayed
game will finally arrive.
-
VIRTUA FIGHTER 3: will be sold with and without
an upgrade for the Saturn.
-
WAVE RUNNER: another great arcade racer heading
for Saturn.
> Pretty impressive list, wouldn't you say? The best
thing about it besides the fact that they are all A-Team titles is
the fact that ALL of them are Saturn Exclusives!
Just think, we don't even know all the surprises Sega may have
up their sleeves come next Christmas... Yet!
