> Remember Iron Storm for Sega Saturn?
Having spent countless hours trying to turn the tide of WWII, I sure do.
Well, that is the type of game you can expect in Dai Senryaku VII:
Modern Military Tactics for Xbox. This is a
modern war/strategy game, released in Japan as Daisenryaku VII in
2003. I'm actually amazed to no end that someone - Kemco
- has even decided to localize this game, as we never seem to get this
genre from Japan. At any rate, something is better than nothing at
all.
> There are three playable modes -- Free Mode (which offers you 62 pre-made
maps), Mapmaker/Map Editor (design your own map and then play it), and
Mission Mode (which is packed with 26 levels in all). Mission Mode
is the single-player war, and is used to get your bearings and prepare
for the two-player game (Free Mode). Dai Senryaku VII
is a turn-based war/strategy game layered with a plethora of vehicles,
more than 800 real-world modern military vehicles -- ranging from dozens
of subs, fighter planes, jeeps, tanks, ships, to carriers. Play on
the old-school grid system and watch your units go into battle with cut-scenes.
> Dai Senryaku VII isn't for everyone. Armchair generals
and fans of the Shining
Force series' strategic gameplay will probably gobble this
up. Sure this game doesn't echo real-world events, but nonetheless
I'll be commanding forces in about two weeks... |
