> The original OutRun helped make a name for one of Sega's
most elite developers, AM2. It also spawned many look-alikes,
as well as a couple sequels: OutRun Turbo and Out Runners
(which was ported to Genesis). Nearly 20 years later,
lucky Xbox owners get to play another long awaited sequel,
OutRun
2.
> OutRun 2 has all the original's features, plus up-to-date
graphics, remixes of the original soundtracks, and drifting galore.
It's also slated to have an Arcade Mode, Heart Attack Mode (story), and
an Xbox exclusive Mission Mode. Choose from eight different
fast and furious Ferrari cars, including the Enzo Ferrari,
Dino 246 GTS, 365 GTS/4 Daytona, Testarossa, 360 Spider, 288 GTO, F40,
and F50. The spectacular scenery includes ancient deserts, snowy
mountains, foggy hills, and tropical cities.
> Let's not forget online play. Xbox Live users can
compete online, upload/download ghosts, and enjoy future downloadable content.
Top it off with up to 8 players online!
> The port is being handled by the UK developer, Sumo-Digital.
Thank God the arcade game's hardware is based on the Xbox's,
so this should be a perfect conversion. OutRun 2 will
most likely be check-point racing at its best. |
