Intro

> Halo is one of the marquee launch titles for Microsoft Xbox. As the first
game I owned for the Xbox, I would have to say it's the best I've seen.
For Microsoft's first game console this is the kind of game that will sell
systems and let the Xbox have a place in console history. |
Graphics
|
> This games graphics may not be the best seen on a console to date, but
for one of the Xbox's first games it does show some of what the big black
box's future games will be like. In Halo the view will sometime switch
between first person and third person point of view when you are in a vehicle.
When you fire a gun in this game the bullets explode out of your gun or
when your enemy fires a needler the pink bullets will follow your every
move until they hit you, and you can also charge up some of your alien
arsenal so the blast will be more powerful. When a enemy is down you can
continue to fire at him and watch the blood splatter. When you fire a shot
and it hits the ground the dirt flys up but if you shoot at the water the
dirt also flys up. When you are in the warthog you can go through the water
and watch it splash up or when you hit a tree it looks like you ran a stop
sign and into a bigrig. The visuals in this game are sweet and you won't
be disapointed in the game. |
Control
|
> Some people might say the Xbox controller is to big and the buttons are
to
close together or to hard to reach, after playing this game for a hour
it didn't even feel like i had anything in my hand. Bungie and Microsoft
made good use of the Xbox's controller layout. The controls aren't difficult
to figure out and are easy to get used to. It is so easy to control the
vehicles and when your in a full assault on your enemies you should have
no trouble taking them out. |
Sound
|
> The music in Halo was very well done it really gets you into the battles
that take place. When your not in a battle you can hear the dropships soaring
above you or when you drive you hear the engine running and the bullets
hitting the ground. Most of the diaglouge is done in voice overs when you
reach some lost marines they will say they are so happy to see you in fill
you in on the situation. They just did a great job with the sound in this
game. |
Fun
|
> For my first Xbox game i'd have to stay it was worth it. You can play
it in different difficulty levels. If you know anyone that has another
Xbox you can link up to four of them and have a 16 player deathmatch and
there are losts of things to do in the multiplayer mode like capture the
flag, king of the hill, slayer, oddball, and race. When your player single
player you can also use a variety of human and alien vehicles like tanks
to alien assault aircrafts. There are a diverse number of missions that
you can play through to keep you wanting more. |
