> Earthshaker really impressed me the first time I heard their music.
I immediately went to the local importer and bought this album, "Fugitive",
to begin my collection. I don't know what it is about the period
of 1982-1985, but it seems like quite a few of my favorite records were
released within that span. No doubt, this is Earthshaker's best album.
> EARTHSHAKER/Fugitive is their second release (to my knowledge), and is
a prime example of an album which can be heard from start to finish.
As usual, the lyrics are mainly Japanese with a spattering of English.
That's fine, especially since "Marcy" has an awesome voice! This
album just shines any way you analyze it. The guitar, especially,
is simply fantastic. Shinichiro's smooth flowing guitar solos and
emotional highlights are heaven to your ears! Throw in the special
appearance of Mitchell Froom playing synthesizer, and you have a sweet
CD!
> The album continues the course set by their "Earthshaker"
album with medium beat metal and one heck of a great ballad, "Love Destiny".
It's really hard to pick a favorite song. If I had to, however, it
would have to be "More". This song just rocks, and causes you to
yearn for more, even after 4"46"! The only song that doesn't
fit the mold is "Drive Me Crazy", which has a 50's throw-back feel to it
(it's still good though). Must be a Japanese thing?! |
> If you can appreciate great metal jams without necessarily understanding
the Japanese lyrics, then I would highly recommend this album to you.
Fugitive is Earthshaker's second release, and it's definitely their best!
Upon location of this album, buy it immediately! Good luck.
