> Draconus has gone through multiple delays and name changes. The latest name is Draconus: Dragon's Blood, which sounds a little more like what you'll actually accomplish in the game. I have to say, hack 'n' slash games are among my favorite types to play. Games like Golden Axe (Genesis) and Soul Fighter (Dreamcast) are similar in concept to Treyarch's first Uber-game. However, Draconus is supposed to have a distinctive RPG flavor to it. > Treyarch has promised 15 great looking sword and sorcery levels to keep us busy. There will be no shortage of special effects either (no surprise) as they're using dynamic lighting, smooth animation, dramatic magic (22 spells), plus indoor and outdoor locales. If you're looking for variety, then Draconus delivers with over 30 deadly enemies as well as huge bosses. The game offers two player characters to choose from: a Warrior and Sorceress. Each has individual abilities and advantages. > Draconus' gameplay includes finding keys, slaying enemies, and searching out conquests with an emphasis on dark, medieval themes. The narrator from Legacy of Kain (Dreamcast) is also featured in Draconus. I'm hoping for mostly quick action and a little adventure RPG, but this balance remains to be seen. |
