The main
objective is to ski down the various tracks in record time while performing
tricks to earn the most points.
You can
earn additional characters by beating the "time to beat" for each track.
Your score
is the total points earned for the top five tricks on a given run.
Points for tricks are given based on speed, air time, complexity, risk,
and landing.
I would
recommend using the NiGHTS 3D Pad (in digital mode) for this game since
the Left/Right Shift buttons work real well with Steep Slope Sliders.
For whatever
reason, SSS is not analog compatible. Nevertheless, the gameplay
is second to none. Hats off to Victor/Cave.
There
are many places to perform tricks throughout the various courses.
However, in order to maximize your score, you'll need to concentrate on
the "trick points" that I have identified. These are the points where
you can most likely earn the highest score on a given track.
