Intro
     > Choose your destiny! What will you choose? Will you fight for the light or will you be turned toward the path of the dark side? This is one of the best Star Wars games to date, and some say the best storyline in the last few years (I'd have to agree), and for now its only on Xbox.
Graphics
     > When you first start off the game you get the ability to create your own character from male to female and from three different classes. The main character you choose is nothing special and doesn't seem like a lot was done to improve them but eventually you'll be able to upgrade them with different armor and weapons which are done nicely, the rest of your party you meet on the way along with the NPC's are very well done and look true to the Star Wars name. The background are brilliant you are able to travel to six different worlds all with beautiful and exotic places to visit. The graphics are a plus on this game.
Control
     > The control is really basic and easy to learn, although I had some trouble in the first few battle but soon go the hang out it. Moving around and interacting is simple with just the two analog sticks. Battle is a mix between turn-based and real-time action, so you are able to make different choices by pausing the game which is a nice feature so you don't get killed while trying to heal.
Sound
     > The music was one of my favorite parts of this game, it sounded like music from a esteemed Japanese composer. The main kick is the sound effects. The blaster fire to the lightsaber battles. It's especially nice if you have 5.1 surround sound. All the characters are done with voice overs, which is a nice touch, its a shame though your main character never talks.
Fun
     > This game never gets old. There is so much to see and do in this game its amazing. If your getting tired of the main quest and wanna take a break trying exploring the different worlds for hidden items and treasure, or try your luck at one of the many different mini games. Swoop racing and Pazaak which is a gambling card game are fun just make sure you don't lose too much money like I did!
Bottom Line
     > This game is great. This is one of the best RPG's on the Xbox, if not the best. Even if your not really into Star Wars and I'm not, this game has it all. If you're still not sure at least give it a rental. Don't forget to keep your eyes open for the downloadable content, which is coming soon to Xbox Live.

Intro
     > Yes, I am ever the Star Wars fan.  After all these years of movies and licensed games, it appears as though an RPG will finally do the Star Wars realm justice.  Enter BioWare, creators of the great FPS for Dreamcast, MDK2.  The end product is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR).  Now, you decide which path to take -- light or dark -- on your journey through the Old Republic.
Graphics
     > For the most part, I'd say KOTOR's graphics are very good, though they don't seem to take full advantage of textures, and some 3D models are hardly better than many Dreamcast games.  One thing I don't understand is why it's impossible to make a beautiful female character, as all the available faces are basically ugly.  Quite often there's a slight lag, possibly because of loading as well.  Even so, I don't want to degrade the many rich and beautifully detailed locales BioWare has created, no doubt with the supervision of LucasArts.

     > The many cut-scenes are top notch and overall the loading is kept to a bearable amount.  I haven't forgotten the enemies.  Most of the monsters are nicely detailed and menacing enough.  Although your arch enemy, Darth Malak, doesn't compare to Darth Vader or Darth Maul, he's evil looking as can be expected.  Lastly, the cities do an excellent job of transporting you into George Lucas' vision of the future.  All this is fine as long as the gameplay is intact, which I'll describe below.

Control
     > Essentially KOTOR is in real-time until you enter a battle, at which time you have the option to pause while switching characters and targets, or to input commands.  Also, you can just let the fighters battle it out with the macros you've given them.  If that doesn't suit you, you're always free to interject at any time and take complete control of anyone in your party, as long as his/her vitality (HP) isn't exhausted.  At the height of your long and difficult journey, you'll have up to 9 members in your team, of which you may choose up to 3 to go on quests.  It's not perfect, but I guess it's a happy medium of true real-time and turn-based battles.

     > Your characters are highly customizable, while some weapons and armor are upgradable.  As you advance, more people will be added to your team within a predetermined storyline.  You can acquire new weapons, armor and items throughout your journey as quest prizes, shop purchases, treasure finds and while corpse searching.  Just about everything you do influences your light/dark side tendencies, which affects your future choices and ultimate destiny.

     > Most worlds you visit have a main quest (mandatory), along with multiple side quests (optional).  You'll need to explore, use persuasion, pick locks and win battles to succeed.  Talking to people is how to gain information, and receive/complete quests.  I guess my only real complaint in this department would be that you can't transport back to your base at any time -- you sometimes have to trudge through multiple areas, which are usually devoid of enemies.

Sound
     > KOTOR features a pleasant mixture of familiar Star Wars tracks and some new ones as well (at least I don't recognize them all).  John Williams at his best.  What else need I say?

     > The sound effects in KOTOR are top notch.  Everything you'd expect to hear in a Star Wars movie is present.  Even the multitude of conversations you'll have are text and spoken (nice touch).  For the most part, the voice acting is pretty good.

Fun
     > This is easily the most fun I've had in a Star Wars game since Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire on N64.  Even though KOTOR's battle gameplay can't touch that of Phantasy Star Online, it's not bad when you consider how many options BioWare crammed in there.  The shear number of weapons, armor and items is enough to boggle the mind (much like PSO).  You too can learn the ways of the Force!
Bottom Line
     > If you want a great RPG -- the only one I can think of for Xbox right now -- then look no further than Star Wars: KOTOR.  You can finally become a Jedi Master, or Sith Master, within the realm of the Old Republic.  At times, the options can be overwhelming.  Hence, the semi real-time battles.  When it's all said and done, KOTOR is now my favorite console game with a Star Wars license.
