     > Metropolis Street Racer (MSR) has been hyped since day one to be one of the premier racers for Dreamcast -- possibly even better than Sega GT.  It's original release was expected to coincide with the uber-launch last September.  As the gaming world turns, unfortunately, MSR has fallen prey to a number of delays in order to make improvements.  The latest launch date is in July 2000...

     > MSR features photo realistic locales from some of the world's most famous cities -- namely, Tokyo, San Francisco (of Crazy Taxi fame), and London.  Bizarre has spared no expense to obtain aerial photos, street plans, and survey maps which will be used in recreating these cities in the game.  Everything from the topography, to the textures, to the scenery is supposed to look very convincing.  Just take a gander at the pix below and see for yourself.

     > As with all racers, gameplay is important and Bizarre intends to provide plenty of it.  MSR is supposed to lean towards the simulation side (harder to make correctly) so I hope the developers don't screw this up (not that I'm expecting them to).  I'm hoping for a combination of Sega Rally 2 and Sega GT control.  You'll race through the streets without worrying about speeding tickets or clumsy pedestrians!  A choice of modes such as Street Race, Timed Run, Championship, and more will be included.  Race alone or tear the asphalt up against a friend in split-screen head-to-head competition.  MSR boasts over 60 licensed sports cars to choose from and 200 routes to provide a different thrill-ride every time.

FIRST IMPRESSION:
     > I'm actually enthused to see that Bizarre keeps delaying this game in order to ostensibly improve it.  Hopefully their promises come true!  MSR's graphics look sweet so I'm waiting to assess its gameplay.  I, for one, will find out first hand on release day...
Potential: 9+
